THIS VISUAL GALLERY COMES COURTESY OF ME TAKING AN AMBITIOUS ACT ON A HOT ASS DAY TO GO AND SEE THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED LARGE SCALE SCULPTURE EXHIBITION THAT KARA WALKER WAS HAVING AT THE ABANDONED DOMINOS SUGAR FACTORY RIGHT HERE IN BROOKLYN NEW YORK. THANKFULLY I WENT ON THE VERY FIRST DAY IT OPENED NOT KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT AND I HAVE TO SAY I WAS ASTONISHED. THE TIME AND EFFORT IT MUST HAVE TAKED TO COMPLETE SUCH A TASK IS TOO LARGE TO THINK, BUR I WILL SAY THIS I HAD AN EMOTIONAL BOND WITH THE SCULPTURES AND STARTED THINKING OF THE HORRIFIC AND PAINFUL STORIES THAT WENT ALONG WITH THE LIFE AND TIMES OF A BLACK SUGAR WORKER. NEVERTHELESS I WAS INSPIRED BECAUSE TRACING THE ROOTS OF SUGAR IN AMERICA AND ITS INDUSTRILUZATION ONTO THE AMERICAN POPULATION HAS LED ME TO MY OWN ANCESTRY AND ALL THE WORK AND DUES THEY PAID TO KEEP THINGS A LITTLE SWEETER IN A COMPLETELY NOT SWEET SITUATION. BELOW YOU WILL FIND MY VISUAL FINDINGS OF THE EXHIBITION FROM THE SUMMER ALL SHOT WIHT A CANON REBEL EOS 2OOO 35MM FILM CAMERA. HOPE YOU ENJOY AND LEAVE FEEDBACK.
THIS NEW VISUAL COLLABORATION COMES WITH GREAT JOY AND IN MY OPINION OF TERRYS MODELING, GREAT SKILL. WE SHOT THIS PHOTO SHOOT RIGHT HERE IN NEW YORK CITY AT THE HIGH LINE AROUND THE CHELSEA AREA. TERRY HAS A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT LOOKS IN THIS PHOTO SHOOT AND I THINK HER CHOICE OF CLOTHING WAS PRECISE WITH THE TIMES AND THE WEATHER. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK I’M SURE ME AND HER WILL BE COLLABORATING AGAIN SOON. PHOTOS WERE SHOT WITH A CANON T3I.
THE VISUALS BELOW ARE FROM AN OPENING I ATTENDED NOT TOO LONG AGO AT THE SAFARI GALLERY IN SOHO. IT FEATURED ARTIST WYATT NEUMANN. THE VISUALS WERE IN BLACVK AND WHITE SO I FIGURED I WOULD MINE IN BLACK AND WHITE AS WELL TO SORT OF HAVE IT FLOW SMOOTHLY. ENJOY.
THIS VISUAL SERIES COMES FROM ME GETTING A BIT SENTIMENTAL ABOUT THE SUMMER ENDING. I HAD A PRETTY SWEET ONE AND HAD THE CHANCE TO CAPTURE SOME PRETTY GREAT PEOPLE AND SOME PRETTY GREAT VISUALS, HERE ARE A FEW. THE VISUALS WERE SHOT WITH MY VANON T3I.
ME AND MY FRIEND SAMMY LINKED UP TO HANG AND CATCH UP, IT WAS A PRETTY NICE DAY AND IN THE END FOUR SMOOVE VISUALS WERE CREATED. I DIDNT DO ANY REAL WORK SO I GUESS ALL THE CREDIT GOES TO HER. SUMMER VIBEZ IN BK.
SHADES OF IS AN UNPLANNED COLLABORATION BETWEEN ME AND A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE CALVIN. LAST NIGHT I HAD TO COVER AN ART EXHIBITION FOR MUSEE MAGAZINE AT THE SAFARI GALLERY ON WEST BROADWAY IN SOHO WEHN I ASKED MY BOY TO ROLL. HE GREATLY OBLIGED AND THE NIGHT HAD BEGUN. AFTER WE HAD OUR FILL OF THE EVENT WE DECIDED TO TAKE A WALK AWAY FROM SOHO JUST TO GET AWAY FROM SOME OF THE YUPPIE STENCH THAT FLOATS THROUGH THE AIR WHEN YOU ARE AROUND THERE. SMOOTHLY ENOUGH WE ENDED UP IN CHINATOWN WHICH IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO SCORE SOME GRUB SEE TRIPPY SHIT AT NIGHT THAT CAN BE EITHER VISUALLY ALLURING OR A BIT DISTURBING. IN ANY EVENT I FELT AT HOME WITH ALL THE DARK ALLEYS AND BROKEN STREET LIGHTS. WE DECIDED TO POST UP ON A BLOCK THAT WAS JUST BASICALLY A DESERTED ALLEY. I FORGET THE STREET BUT THERE IS WHERE I JUST RANDOMLY DECIDED TO PLAY WITH SOME BLACK AND WHITE VISUALS OF MY BOY. IT WAS IMPORTANT THAT THE VISUALS DISPLAYED THAT GRIT AND SENSE OF TOTAL REALISM THAT THESE CHINATOWN STREETS POSESS. IT WAS DARK AND GRIMY AND A BIT SUS SO CHECK IT OUT AND STAY TUNED FOR MY NEXT PROJECT.
THIS IS A BLACK AND WHITE SERIES OF STILL VISUALS FROM MY NEIGHBORHOOD ENY. IN THESE VISUALS IM NOT HIDING ANYTHING OR MANIPULATING ANYTHING ITS JUST PURE AND RAW URBAN CULTURE. NO GLITS AND GLAM OR GREAT POPFUL COLORS. JUST THE REAL.
Hello good world I am proud to say that this collaboration is something I’ve been looking forward to for a while. The lovely subject of these particular visuals goes to the credit of Jezra. Jezra is an advocate for full figured women across the board and is also a plus size model. She dabbles in the many fields that the plus size community has created out of positivity and love. From hair to fashion, from fashion to body acceptance, from body acceptance to confidence and from confidence comes influence. It’s a domino affect and all of these things are interconnected. Jezra is not just a plus size model but someone who wants to be representation for beautiful colorful women across the world. This project is going to be one of many coming from me and Jezra in the future. This particular project I’m calling “Intro To Jezra 101” and it entails my first experience with shooting with her. I must admit it was smooth and painless. She is someone who works hard at what she loves and knows how to manipulate expressionz to get the right vibe for the visual, I truly dig that. On top of that she is someone who is not only comfortable with her body but wants other women to feel comfortable about theirs. If you want to check out her visuals and her journey visit her site jezram.com and her ig @jezra_m.
THIS IS THE NEWEST ENSEMBLE OF VISUALS I COLLABORATED WITH MY FRIEND SAMMY ON. FUNNY, IVE NOW COME INTO THE PRACTICE AS SOMEONE WHO IS VISUAL TO LOOK AT ONE PARTICULAR PROJECT FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES AND LEARN TO USE EVEN THE DISCARDS AS INSPIRATION FOR POTENTIAL GREAT WORK. ALL THINGS HAVE SOME PURPOSE AND I AM BECOMING MORE IN TUNED WITH THAT. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO STRETCH MY CREATIVITY WITH ALL OF MY PROJECTS AND KEEP SOME TYPE OF CONSISTENCY. HOPE YOU ENJOY THE BLACK WHITES I WAS ABLE TO CAPTURE.
ROLOC TRIPS IS ANOTHER SERIES OF MINE FEATURING ANOTHER COLLABORATION BETWEEN ME AND A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE SAMMY. SHE WAS NICE ENOUGH TO BE THE SUBJECT MATTER FOR MY VISUALS ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY. I WANTED TO EXPLORE COLOR AND MOTION AND HOW THOSE TWO CAN BE AMPLIFIED AND HOW THEY ALL CAN GIVE OFF A VISUAL VIBE.
